Marianne and Samuel’s wedding in Athens was a vibrant, youthful celebration from start to finish. They chose Pyrgos Petreza, widely considered one of the best and most popular wedding venues in Greece, for both their ceremony and reception. Its rustic stone architecture and vineyard surroundings provided a timeless backdrop for their deeply personal story.

Preparations at Apollon Divani, Vouliagmeni

The day began at the Hotel Apollon Divani in Vouliagmeni. When I first entered the bride’s suite, I was met with a room packed with family and friends—a beautiful, high-energy start that initially felt like a challenge for space! However, the laughter and anticipation of the group quickly put us at ease. As a photographer, capturing these crowded, joyful preparation moments is where the most honest "in-between" shots happen.

A Ceremony Grounded in Faith

The ceremony at Pyrgos Petreza was uniquely moving. What struck me most was the deep Christian religious roots shared by Marianne, Samuel, and their guests. Every moment was imbued with a sense of reverence and emotion that reflected the couple's heritage and faith. My goal was to remain a discrete observer, documenting the gravity of the ceremony without intruding on the spiritual atmosphere.

Ethiopian Traditions and a Packed Dance Floor

As the sun set over the Attica landscape, the reception kicked off in full swing. The outdoor setting was curated with tasteful decor by Riviera Blue Events, creating an elegant ambiance for the evening.

Navigating the packed dance floor was a challenge, but the energy was irresistible. The celebration was a beautiful testament to the couple’s community, featuring a mix of traditional Ethiopian dances and Western popular music. Captured alongside cinematographer Dean Lalos, we focused on the raw movement and shared bonds that made this night so legendary.
