Multicultural Wedding at Pyrgos Petreza | Athens Wedding Photographer
There is a specific kind of magic that happens when two cultures meet under the Greek sun. Sherif, with his Egyptian heritage, and Taryn, from the USA, brought a youthful, optimistic energy to Athens that made this day truly unforgettable.
From a Plaka Rooftop to the Athenian Riviera
We began the day in the historic center of Athens. My associate photographer joined Sherif and his friends at a rooftop Airbnb in Plaka. There’s something remarkably human about a group of best friends squeezed into a single room, helping the groom adjust his tie while the Acropolis watches over them. We couldn’t miss the chance for that obligatory group shot with the Parthenon as their witness.
Meanwhile, I was at Pyrgos Petreza with Taryn for her bridal preparations. One of the reasons I love being a wedding photographer in Athens is the versatility of venues like this. Even though it feels intimate, Petreza offers so many hidden corners. Taryn spent a relaxed morning with her bridesmaids and parents, capturing those casual, unposed shots that tell the real story of the morning.
A Symbolic Ceremony in the Spata Vineyards
For the ceremony, we used the top level of the venue, right next to the Christian Orthodox chapel. With the rolling fields and vineyards as a backdrop, Sherif and Taryn exchanged deeply emotional vows. As they made their exit, guests thronged them with rose petals—a vibrant explosion of joy that set the tone for the rest of the night.
Golden Hour Portraits and Elegant Design
While the guests enjoyed the cocktail hour, we took 20 minutes for portraits just before the sun dipped below the horizon at 19:35. The stone walls of the estate soak up the light, creating a warmth that perfectly matched the couple's vibe. My second photographer captured the stunning decoration created by the team at Think Happy Events, along with drone shots to complete the story.
The Celebration and the First Dance
The energy shifted as we moved to dinner. The entrance was wild—a testament to their fun-loving group of friends. Between emotional speeches from both fathers and the best man and woman, there wasn't a dry eye in the house.
I’ve decided to end this story at their first dance. I delivered so many images to Sherif and Taryn because the party was simply too good to stop clicking, but there is something poetic about leaving you here—at the moment their new life together truly began on the dance floor.
