A Rustic Union at Windmill Resort

The celebration took place at the Windmill Resort, a spectacular estate spanning 14,000 meters of verdant landscape in the heart of the island. The styling by Ioanna Vamvakari was beautifully rustic, using wooden chests and candlelight to complement the natural surroundings.

The wedding party followed a light, homogenized color palette—off-white for the bridesmaids and light tones for the groomsmen—which created a timeless, elegant look against the small white chapel. As a discrete observer, I love these clean aesthetics; they allow the emotions of the ceremony to take center stage without visual noise.

Donkeys, Puppies, and Plate-Breaking

Nikki and Simon embraced the island’s character with a sense of humor. They left the ceremony in a way that had their guests in fits of laughter: the groom riding a donkey while his bride walked beside him holding his hand. It was a perfectly unscripted moment that captured the joy of the day.

The reception was held directly under the historic windmill, next to a pool filled with floating lights. The evening was a true Greek "glenti"—complete with traditional dancing and plate-breaking—balanced with a sophisticated whiskey and cigar bar. To add to the charm, there were even puppies as special guests.
