A Greek Island Villa Wedding | The Two-Day Celebration of Schabana & Ramin

Ethnic themed wedding on a Greek island villa

When Schabana and Ramin first spoke to me about their wedding at Villa Delenia, I knew it would be a unique exercise in blending cultures. Their story unfolded over two days on the island of Evia, transforming this secluded corner of Greece into a vibrant mosaic of Afghan traditions and Middle Eastern customs.

Day One: Afghan Traditions on the Aegean Shore

The festivities began away from the villa, on the golden sands of Paralia Armirichi. It was a striking sight: the azure Aegean Sea serving as a backdrop for a traditional Afghan celebration. As a photographer, I am always searching for the "emotional truth," and seeing these deep-rooted customs transplanted to a rugged Greek beach was a powerful moment to capture.

The air was thick with the rhythm of Afghan music and the scent of wood-fired Greek cuisine. My goal was to remain a discrete observer, capturing the raw energy of the traditional dances and the genuine laughter that filled the sea air as the sun dipped below the horizon.

Day Two: A Symbolic Fusion at Villa Delenia

For the second day, the celebration moved into the heart of the property for a Greek island villa wedding that seamlessly blended East and West. Against a landscape of ancient olive groves and sweeping sea views, Schabana and Ramin exchanged vows in a deeply symbolic ceremony.

What I appreciate most about a private villa like Delenia is the lack of "walls." There are no rigid hotel schedules or tourist crowds—just an open stage for cultural harmony. The reception reflected this perfectly, with a menu that blended Middle Eastern delicacies with local Greek flavors.

Capturing the In-Between Moments

As the evening progressed, the villa transformed. The music shifted from traditional Middle Eastern tunes to modern Western beats, and the courtyard became a space where borders no longer existed. Under the soft glow of fairy lights, I focused on the "in-between" moments—the shared stories and quiet glances—that represent the real milestones of a day like this.

Working alongside the planning team at fsforevents and the cinematography team at chrisandpanos, my focus remained on documenting this Greek island villa wedding with authenticity. From the intricate details of the traditional attire to the wide, cinematic landscapes of the Evia coastline, I wanted the final gallery to feel like a chapter etched in time.
